Sprouse to be present for judgeship vote

Oconee County’s Scott Sprouse is on his way to Columbia to be present during a noon hour vote today of a joint session of the South Carolina Legislature. That vote is to elect Sprouse to succeed the retiring Alex Macaulay as judge in the 10th Circuit—serving Oconee and Anderson counties. Sprouse is considered a shoo-in. He has been deemed qualified and certified as the only candidate in the contest. In accepting the election, it’s a tradition for the winner to stand and wave thanks to the House and Senate members.
