State “C” funds committed for GCCP

September 19, 2013

South Carolina “C” fund money will be used to pave a “T”-shaped road within the Golden Corner Commerce Park at Fair Play. At the request of Scott Moulder, Oconee County administrator, the county “C” fund committee this morning committed $200 thousand for the project. Moulder said the county had received a contractor’s estimate of more than $300 thousand, but doing a lot of the work in-house will knock the price down. And Moulder said the county Public Works Department has a lot of talented people who can get the job done. With the approval earlier this week of a private contract to bring sewer to Golden Corner, Moulder says the process is being stepped up to shape the property into a site-ready industrial park—which has sat idle for years after the property was purchased.
