State of Oconee will have an education focus

Education matters is the slogan and focus of this year’s State of Oconee Luncheon.  The event this Friday will take place at Oconee’s newest school, the first-year Walhalla High in the Picket Post Community.  The event is presented by the county’s three chambers of commerce to highlight why “education matters” for the continued growth of the community.  The luncheon is open to the public and tickets are $25 dollars.  Four panelists will address education and the development of future leaders in Oconee:  Anthony Tosti, CFO of Greenfield Industries; Dr. Michael Thorsland, county superintendent of education; Dan Cooper, director of economic development and government relations, Tri-County Technical College; and Dr. Kristin Frady, director of operations, Clemson University Center for Workforce Development.
