Statewide economic development conference at Seneca

Economic developers from across South Carolina have agreed to hold a three-day symposium next year in Seneca, in a city building that affords a picturesque view of Lake Keowee.  Richard Blackwell says the developers are considered “the best and the brightest” at what they do.  They’ll gather in the conference area of the remodeled Seneca Water Treatment Plant, which sits at the edge of the Normandy Shores peninsula.  They’ll meet as the Advanced Symposium conducted by the South Carolina Department of Commerce and the South Carolina Association of Economic Developers.  The meeting dates are July 19-21.  Blackwell, the executive director of the Oconee Economic Alliance, says the visitors will bring economic benefits to the hospitality aspects of the local economy.  Blackwell is grateful to the city of Seneca for its help in making arrangements for the meeting.
