Stirring the waters political

Seneca resident Allen Yarid wants his city to release a copy of a January financial report which he claims shows the city has lost wealth and has seen the value of its assets decrease. Speaking during the public comment part of last night’s meeting at City Hall, Yarid suggested the report is something that city council candidates, both incumbents and challengers, might want to look at and consider it as an issue in advance of the March 11 election. “I’ve had a copy of it for about three or four weeks,” Yarid said. Mayor Pro-tem Ronnie O’Kelley, who presided during last night’s meeting, said he could not give any answers last night, but promised Yarid he would talk with Mayor Dan Alexander and have the mayor respond.  Anita Bearden, following Yarid to the lectern, said she had some ideas as to how to make better the city’s website and asked who she needed to see about that.  City Administrator Greg Dietterick referred Bearden to Riley Johnson, events coordinator.
