Stolen vehicle leads to chase

Two Anderson County residents have been arrested by Oconee sheriff’s officers after a chase for a stolen vehicle in the Townville area.  The Sheriff’s Office identified Carley Deann Austin and Robert Jeffrey Hughes as the two people arrested after an early Sunday morning chase on highway 24.  Deputies pursued a red 2006 Ford F-250 stolen the previous day  on the Dairy Farm Road.  According to this account provided by the Sheriff’s Office, the pickup turned onto the Hunt Road and then into a field, through rows of fencing.  The two occupants ran, but were caught.  Austin was charged with possession of a stolen verhicle. Hughes was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and four other offenses.
