Straight party-line vote in the Senate

The Senate in Washington voted today on straight party line against the House-passed provision that defunds Obamacare. All Senate Republicans, including South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham, voted in favor of de-funding. The vote was 45-54. In a statement from Washington, Graham said, “I fought and voted against Obamacare in 2010. Since then, I have tried to stop the law’s implementation any way I can.”  Graham’s South Carolina colleague, Senator Tim Scott, weighed in a few moments later with this statement:  “I am opposed to Obamacare, plain and simple, and I fully support repealing the law and preventing further harm to American families and businesses.”  Scott says he voted ‘no’ both on cloture and on passage of the bill.
