Streetscape cost nearly double?

February 19, 2014

Walhalla’s Streetscape project apparently will cost more than what city leaders had anticipated, but Mayor Danny Edwards says it’s not fair to say the estimated price has risen to nearly double than what had been earlier figured. Near the end of last night’s council meeting, Edwards fielded a question from 96.3/WGOG NEWS. We asked whether the re-make of a four block area of the downtown had jumped from $1.2 million to $2.5 million. “I’d rather not get into actual numbers….I think I can safely say that they did come in higher over than what we had hoped they would. We’re going to have to come back and do some changes to try to make those work…,” Edwards said in reply.
