Student charged with punching policeman

January 13, 2014

A 19-year old Clemson student from the Charleston area was arrested over the weekend after being accused of punching a campus policeman several times. According to the university, that policeman was in the process of arresting David Michael Sass, 19-year old Hanahan resident, when the assault allegedly occurred. The police say they were called to Lightsey Bridge apartments just after midnight Saturday because a man was kicking a door, screaming profanities, and had struck a student in the face. Sass was released from custody on a personal recognizance bond of more than $30 thousand.
