Students have academic interest in Kellett property

At no cost, Clemson University students are willing to suggest a plan for developing Seneca’s Kellett property. And city leaders are interested. City Administrator Greg Dietterick said the advantage is that the university’s class of Landscape and Architecture students can offer a perspective from fresh and young eyes. Ed Halbig, Seneca’s planning and community development director, says Seneca has a history of Clemson students taking on projects such as Blue Ridge Field, Buchanan Park, and Martin Luther King Way. Halbig, however, cautioned the mayor and council to remember that the work amounts to an academic exercise for the students to be counted as a grade in their studies.
