Students of the Quarter represent hope for the future

“We are so proud of what you students do and who you are.”  That’s one of the compliments given today by Oconee school trustee Rosemary Bailes to the Students of the Quarter representing public schools in Walhalla, Keowee, and Tamassee-Salem.  The students, accompanied by their principals, received certificates and a free lunch today, courtesy of the Walhalla Rotary Club.  Bailes is a retired teacher and the Walhalla area member on the county board of trustees.  But it’s her role as a Rotarian that gives her special pleasure in measuring the progress made by the young of the community.  Recognized today were Savannah Reid of Keowee Elementary School, Jenny Arcade of James Brown Elementary, Bre Hamilton of Walhalla Elementary; Jonathan Head of Tamassee-Salem Middle School; Tori Hopkins of Walhalla Middle School; Jessica Fretwell of Tamassee-Salem High School, and Cassidy Crane of Walhalla High School.  The Rotarians got to hear a synopsis of what each of the students had accomplished at their school.
