Students tackle medical issues of under-served women

Students from Clemson University’s College of Health, Education and Human Development are tackling the issues of breast cancer and heart disease. They are among the leading causes of death of women ages 45 and older in the country. This summer, nursing and public health sciences students from the college are offering physicals to uninsured, under-served women 47 to 64 across the Upstate. The particular focus will be on the heart and breast health. The program benefits patients, such as “Betty,” who received her physical from Clemson students at a clinic at the AnMed Health Infusion Center in Anderson.
