A new program is going to help acquaint Oconee high school age students to the world of business. The Walhalla Area Chamber of Commerce is announcing an ambassadors program, a scholarship-driven program for rising juniors and seniors at the Oconee Christian Academy and Walhalla and Tamassee-Salem high schools. According to the announcement from Vanessa Penton, chamber executive director, the program will introduce participants as prospective future business leaders of the local community to the world of business through the chamber of commerce experience. It will enable them to take an active role through volunteering and assisting in the administrative functions and events of the chamber. Letters of recommendation are required from chamber members.
