Summary Judgment Expected in Seneca PD Case

The lawsuit against the Seneca Police Department is expected to be decided in the next several days. The case of Lloyd Lash against the Seneca Police Department was filed last year. Lash was arrested in 2009 as a suspect in the 2004 murder of a Seneca cab driver. Lash was acquitted of those charges in 2011. During Monday’s hearing, the attorney for the Seneca Police Department, James Jolly, argued that when the suit was filed last year, the statute of limitations had expired on five of the original six causes of action. The attorney for Lash argued that the clock for the statute of limitations should begin when Lash’s 2011 trial began. Judge Lawton McIntosh is expected to make a ruling on a motion for summary judgment in the coming days.
