Suspect arrested in one-year old burglary case

A deputy sheriff chased and arrested a man who ran into a briar patch near the Long Creek Highway. The man arrested Friday faces multiple charges including public disorderly conduct in the neighborhood of the Johnny Cox Road near Westminster. According to the Sheriff’s Office, among the charges placed against Jesse Eugene Mulkey of the Butts Farm Road are burglary and theft charges nearly one year ago at HHH Recycling on the Sandifer Boulevard. It was a burglary in which the thieves cut wires to the security camera and stole 500 pounds of copper worth $1,500 dollars.
