Suspected kidnapping case ends near state line

A case of suspected kidnapping and other crime that started at a manufacturing plant near Seneca ended later in the day yesterday at the Georgia-South Carolina line. And Oconee Sheriff’s Office has announced three charges against 58-year old Westminster area resident Douglas Ray Holden. A third-party telephone call alerted the Sheriff’s Office dispatchers to an incident in which a woman at Schneider Electric had been taken at gunpoint and assaulted. Deputies say they found Holden and his alleged victim on highway 76 near the Chattooga River. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the charges against Holden are kidnapping, criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
