“SWAT” deployment ends with man’s surrender

The deployment of the Oconee “SWAT” team ended with the surrender of a man who sheriff’s officers say barricaded himself inside his home early yesterday near Seneca.  David Michael Brown was arrested and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature on S. Stonegate Drive near the Wells Highway.  Officers say the wife of the 31-year old Brown escaped and contacted law enforcement and did not suffer injuries.  A 9-1-1 call was received at 3 a-m.  Five and a half hours later the man in the home made contact with a family member, and the Sheriff’s Office quoted the family member as saying three children in the home were in good condition.  Dialogue began between the man, family members, and Sheriff’s Office negotiators, and the man then agreed to surrender.
