Tajh Boyd helps Clemson outlast Georgia

Tajh Boyd threw three touchdown passes and ran for two others as #8 Clemson defeated #5 Georgia 38-35 on Saturday night. Boyd recorded a 77-yard TD pass to Sammy Watkins and a 24-yard scoring throw to Zac Brooks, but it was a nine-yard TD pass to tight end Stanton Seckinger that sealed the deal in the fourth quarter. Boyd also compiled touchdown runs of 4 and 2 yards to win the lone matchup of top-10 teams in college football’s opening weekend.It was the Tigers’ second straight win against a top-10 opponent from the Southeastern Conference, the first time that’s ever been done by a team outside of the SEC. The Tigers finished last season with a win over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
