Taking the wraps off “Project Crystal”

An OconeeCounty community, long skipped over when it comes to economic growth, is in line for an employer with plans for 31 jobs.  Space is set aside on next week’s County Council agenda for a public hearing on “Project Crystal”—now identified as a chemical maker with plans to locate on Newry Road.  Richard Blackwell, director of Oconee Economic Alliance, released this statement today to 96.3/WGOG NEWS:  “They will acquire the former school house/office structure in that community and upfit it for their business use.  We are excited as not only is it bringing new jobs to our county but also is a nice revitalization type project for that former textile mill area.”
