Talent pipeline for the future

Several of Oconee’s major employers are taking part today in a workforce opportunity summit whose focus is the county’s workforce and how to develop talent for the future. The meeting takes place at the Oconee School District’s Hamilton Career Center, an institution whose courses prepare high school students for entry to the workforce. But the Career Center wants to do its job better, according to Director Mike Pearson. Richard Blackwell of Oconee Economic Alliance gave the official welcome to an audience that included educators and representatives of several Oconee plants—such as Dynamic Fluids, Borg-Warner, Covidien, and Schneider Electric.
