Talk of wholesale hikes for another day!

At least for now, Pioneer Rural Water has avoided a fourth straight year of retail rate increases. But its chairman, Jerry Barlow, said today the day will come for the board to consider what impact new wholesale supplier increases will have on the district’s budget projections in 2013-14. Both Seneca and Westminster raised their wholesale charges to Pioneer. “They will impact our budgets,” Barlow conceded in an interview today with 96.3/WGOG NEWS. No need, however, to call a special meeting. Barlow says, at this point, the board can wait for its next regular meeting, set for September.
