Talks begin that could lead to development

March 4, 2014

Talks have begun between government and private interests that could lead to development on property near Clemson that, for many years, was home to a textile plant. At their meeting, Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority commissioners heard a report last night that the property involved formerly was used as a Milliken manufacturing plant and is now owned by New Spring Church of Anderson. The church is reported to be interested in the property fronting 123 and backing up to Lake Hartwell as a location for a future church, as well as space for commercial development. Bob Winchester, executive director of the JRSA, said the talks begun addressed the potential for sewer service.
