Target date for special exception hearing

August 21, 2013

The 19th of September is the date that Walhalla targets to consider Oconee County’s request for a special exception to the city zoning law. City officials say, however, it’s going to depend on whether the board of appeals can attract a quorum of members for a hearing that night. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw last Friday submitted the county’s official request for a zoning exception that would allow the new jail to be built on the north side of the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.
