Tax dispute settlement to the Attorney General

An Oconee County Council vote last gave the final OK to the settlement of a dispute of more than $300 thousand dollars worth of what the county had alleged were unpaid taxes.  Once again, it was a 3 to 2 vote that divided Cain, McCall, and Cammick, who voted to settle, from Thrift and Dexter who voted no.  However, the council then passed a unanimous vote which directs the county administrator to forward the settlement ordinance to the state Attorney’s General for his review.  The ordinance also grants a new lease for an airport hangar to the limited liability company of Jerry and Steve Edwards.
