Tech commissioners on board!

In a meeting yesterday, the commissioners for Tri-CountyTechnicalCollege cast a vote in favor of building the college’s OconeeCounty campus in what now is a new, but empty industrial park on n. highway 11.  The action by the Tech board equates to one-third of the required local approvals on the way to make the entire project a reality in the Oconee Information and TechnologyPark.  The entire project also calls for a career center for the public schools and new offices for the Oconee Economic Alliance.   Approvals are still needed by the Oconee County Council and the Oconee School Board of Trustees.  Richard Blackwell, director of Oconee Economic Alliance, says the property to be set aside for the campus is to the right of the entrance road to the park.  According to Scott Moulder, OconeeCounty administrator, the proposed arrangement would have Tech lease the property from the county.
