Tech teacher part of national initiative

A Spanish instructor at Tri-County Tech, Timeko McFadden, has been selected to take part in an initiative of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.  The initiative is dedicated to improve and expand the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction.  A Simpsonville resident, McFadden will serve on a team of six language professionals who will work together on assessments and activities to implement in the classroom that will re-enforce bi-literacy.  Many students are bilingual but not bi-literate which, according to McFadden, means they aren’t proficient in writing a foreign language.
