Tech’s Lee in charge of area’s TRIO program

Her mom worked in a factory and her dad was a janitor.  And Cindy Trimmier Lee, who grew up in Seneca, became the first member of her family to go to college.  Today Lee works at Tri-County Technical College where she manages the TRIO program–a federal program designed to help disadvantaged students reach college and stay there.  Lee works directly with students at three high schools, Seneca, West-Oak and Pickens, to help channel students, especially those who are first generation students, thru the pipeline to college. The message that she left during a talk to the Seneca Rotary Club is that there is substantial money available to help disadvantaged students realize their goal to go to college.
