Tell your story in “The Whisper Room”

A small studio, resembling what you’d see in a radio station, has been assembled in the main branch of the Oconee Library in Walhalla.  It’s there to record Oconee County residents to tell the stories of their county’s history.  The project by the library, in partnership with the Heritage Center, is underway with the first focus being stories of the early days of lakes Keowee, Jocassee and Hartwell.  To tell a story it’s not required that you had direct knowledge of that period in history.  Perhaps a story about the lakes has been handed down to you by a family member.  You can get in touch with the library by contacting Emily Embry at 864/364-5701 or by email [email protected] or Oconee Heritage Center staff at 864/638-2224.
