Tentative approval for land deal near Oconee Rock Crusher

Oconee County has given preliminary approval to a transaction that will grow its Rock Crusher complex near Walhalla.  After an executive session this week, the county council gave first reading to an ordinance outlining the purchase of 54 acres at 698 and 724 Rock Crusher Road.  Scott Moulder, county administrator, says if the deal goes thru the Rock Crusher property will increase to nearly 150 acres.  Four individuals are listed as sellers:  Carra Orr, Gloria Faye Orr Bashnan, Glenda Brock, and Susan West.  Moulder says the dollar figure to be paid the sellers is being negotiated.  The Rock Crusher, an enterprise fund of Oconee County government, is a big revenue producer thru its sales of crushed stone, rip rap, boulders and other materials.
