Terms of superintendent’s new deal

In the next year the Oconee superintendent of education will see his base salary exceed $140 thousand dollars.  The school district said, by action of the county trustees on Monday night, the annual salary of Dr. Michael Thorsland will be $141,831.  After reviewing the quality of the superintendent’s work over the last 12 months, the trustees also decided to add a year to their superintendent’s contract.  The contract now runs through June 30, 2019.
