Friday night is still considered a date night. And the joke going around at this week’s meeting of the board of directors of the Pioneer Rural Water District followed this line. If you need a place to take your date this Friday night, consider a meeting at the water district headquarters in Oakway. To meet the requirements of a one-year old law, Pioneer Water is encouraging its customers to engage in the process of filling its board of directors. At 6 o’clock tomorrow night, nominations will be accepted to represent Territory 3. It’s a seat now held by Jerry Barlow, who serves as board chairman. And Barlow says he will offer for a new term. “Only those who live within Territory 3 will be eligible to both nominate and vote.” Eligible to vote and be nominated are those Pioneer customers who live west of SC 59 and south of Spearman Road.
