Testy exchange

Throughout the morning in Common Pleas Court in Walhalla the defense attorney cross-examined the project manager for Plateau Excavation. And some of the exchanges between Stephanie Burton and Plateau’s Shane Hall were testy—especially as Hall tried to explain the varying amounts in claims made of Oconee County to cover the earthmover’s equipment rentals in the project to extend the airport runway 600 feet to a total of five thousand feet. Hall described a claim for $1.6 million as a “foray” to try to get the county to talk about the charges incurred by his company during the period when the project was temporarily halted.
