Texting can wait, Governor Haley says

Governor Haley wants college students to pledge that they will not text and drive. Haley joined the university presidents at both Clemson and South Carolina and others today to announce Texting Can Wait – Pledge Day and encourage students to take part in the awareness campaign. Students can do that by collecting fellow student pledges that they will not text and drive. A survey by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found 25% of teenagers admitted to sending or responding to a text message at least once every time they get behind the wheel.
