“Thanking Our First Responders”

Congressman Jeff Duncan spent part of yesterday morning at the Oconee Law Enforcement Center as a gesture of thanks and gratitude to those who lay it on the line in times of danger—law enforcement officers, fire fighters, paramedics and first responders. It was part of a “Thanking Our First Responders Tour” that takes Duncan to Oconee and four other counties in his district. What happened recently in Boston was not lost on the lawmaker. Duncan told his audience, “We are very mindful of the fact that first responders put themselves in harm’s way to protect us. You guys do that every day and we don’t take that lightly.” In spite of national government’s financial hard times, Duncan says he stands ready to help law enforcement, fire, EMS and rescue with federal grants that are available.
