“That’s my heritage, and I’ll fly it until….”

Since the state legislature removed the Confederate flag from the grounds of the State House, in the aftermath of the Charleston shootings, the display of the flag has often been flown from cars and trucks belonging to private individuals.  In Walhalla this morning, one man displayed the flag from the back of his moped.  What made him unusual is his heritage as an African-American.  Walhalla resident Jimmy Rogers told 101.7 WGOG NEWS, “That’s my heritage, and I’m going to fly one until the day I die.”  Rogers says, so far, he’s had only one bad reaction to his display of the Confederate flag.
