At this point, three Democrats have announced their intentions to run for President next year. But the executive director of the South Carolina Democratic Party hints there could well be some additions to the field. Jason Perkey likes the idea that South Carolina, once the New Hampshire primary and the Iowa caucuses are completed, the Palmetto State is going to have a say in weeding out the process. On successive Saturdays in February South Carolina voters will cast ballots in Democratic and Republican Presidential primary elections. He predicts that the dialogue that Democratic contenders will bring to South Carolina will be healthy in a state which is practically ruled by one party, the Republicans.
