The calendar calls for a change in habits

One more day of summer vacation is all that’s left for Oconee County children.  Starting tomorrow school children are being ask to break their summer time habits and, once again, get serious about reading, writing, arithmetic.  The 2015-16 year begins tomorrow morning.  It means the re-appearance of those yellow school buses and heavy traffic in and around school zones.  The summer saw construction work at two schools:  Ravenel and Fair-Oak elementary schools.  On highway 11, it was a summer to ready the new Walhalla High School.  For those driving to Walhalla High tomorrow, the school district’s Steve Hanvey recommends you make a trial run between now and tomorrow just to get used to the lay of the land there.
