The county shall not be released

Word from Walhalla City Hall is that, in a unanimous vote, the city council decided to hold Oconee County to an agreement which obligates the county to pay the Joint Regional Sewer Authority $610 thousand a year. The city council acted as a member city of the JRSA and, before voting last night, first met privately with its attorney, Julian Stoudemire. Meantime, across town, the County Council gave final approval to an ordinance that requires detailed invoices from the JRSA and requests a county councilman and the administrator to represent the county at JRSA meetings.
