The flow of waste, a concern to commissioners
Oconee planning commissioners believe that education and some simple administrative changes can make a dent in the volumes of trash generated in the county. Wayne McCall, the District Two councilman, worries that Oconee would have no disposal recourse if it loses its contract with a Georgia landfill. And last night McCall met with the Oconee Planning Commission to consider how the county can recycle further without it being costly. One idea is to re-work the manned convenience centers to make them easier to separate waste to be re-cycled.
