The police believe Franks solely responsible

With the arrest of a 39-year old man who lives near Seneca, the city police believe they have the individual responsible for $30 thousand worth of vandalism since the first of the year. The police yesterday announced the arrest of Calvin Scottie Franks of Singing Pines Road on 10 counts of malicious damage to personal property and 23 counts of malicious damage to real property. Chief John Covington released the following statement: “On May 21, 2014, investigators of the Seneca Police Department obtained a significant lead through video surveillance from a local business that had sustained vandalism. The video assisted investigators in identifying the vehicle that the suspect was believed to be driving, as well as an approximate time frame that the suspect was traveling through the downtown area. With that information, officers of the patrol division were able to locate and conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description during the early morning hours the following day. At that time the driver was identified as Calvin S. Franks of Seneca.” According to the police, the vandalism in which Franks is accused occurred primarily downtown. Business windows were shattered, so were vehicle windows—apparently by a BB or pellet gun. On By-Pass 123, Leader Ford sustained the heaviest damage. Over a week’s time frame, 21 vehicles were damaged.
