The price tag for Tech building projects

Two future building projects for Tri-County Tech are going to cost millions of dollars, but the college president says they are going to educate students to help them make it in today’s world.  One of the projects is Tech’s first official campus in Oconee County.  The campus will sit inside the county’s new park on highway 11 as one occupant of the Oconee Workforce Development Center.  According to Dr. Ronnie Booth, “pre-design work” has started.  Last week Scott Moulder, Oconee County administrator, estimated $5 million for the cost.  A separate project will be Tech’s first major Pendleton campus building in about 25 years.  It’s being called the Student Success Center, and the cost could range between $40 and $47 million, with Oconee’s paying 25% of the bill for Tech’s three service counties.  “The population on this campus has more than doubled since we built the last building,” Booth said in response to why the need.
