In fewer than three years’ time, Oconee’s population count has surpassed the 75 thousand mark. To be exact, that’s 75,045—a new estimate from the Census Bureau. Oconee gained 417 in population since the 2012 estimate and 772 since the 2010 count. Oconee’s two South Carolina neighbors continue to count populations in excess of 100 thousand—-with the latest estimate of more than 190 and a half thousand for Anderson and nearly 120 thousand for Pickens.
