Thief took envelope containing $500

Oconee Sheriff’s Office released a description today of a person of interest in a case of theft last month at a convenience store. A store customer accidentally dropped a bank envelope containing $500 dollars  inside the store. The crime occurred January 5 in the Countryside Exxon in the Tokeena-Crossroads Community. Later, once the woman realized what had happened, she went back to the store. By that time, however, someone had picked the envelope off the floor and left with it. According to Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, the person of interest is a white male, mid 30s, tall with a slender build, with possible facial hair. At the time, it’s believed he wore a red, white and blue bandanna. Anyone with information on the larceny is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 638-STOP. Your tip could qualify you for an award of up to $2 thousand.
