Latest instance of bogus currency

June 27, 2013

A new instance of the passing of counterfeit money in Oconee County prompts the Sheriff’s Department to warn unsuspecting businesses. The latest occurrence was Monday at McDonald’s, at 1305 Sandifer Boulevard, Seneca. There, a drive-thru customer gave the cashier a fake $10 bill. That fake bill is now evidence and part of a continuing investigation. Other cases were May 26 in Walhalla and May 27 in West Union. If you have information helpful to law enforcement, call Crimestoppers at 638-STOP. You can text a tip to 274637. You don’t have to give your name. If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2 thousand.
