Threat to lead to criminal charges

The posting on an instagram account has landed a Pendleton High student in trouble with the law. Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says for making threats toward West-Oak High students, the Anderson County boy likely will face criminal charges from two counties.  The Pendleton student was interviewed today while extra deputies were posted at all West-Oak area schools.  The high school had gone to a code yellow.  Crenshaw says what happened does not appear to have any relation to the Townville Elementary shootings.  Instead, according to Crenshaw, it’s believed remarks made by West-Oak students about the boy’s grandmother led to the threats.
