Three mothers charged with neglect

December 21, 2012

Law enforcement records show three young Oconee County mothers were arrested this week and charged with unlawful neglect of children. A law enforcement source says the women arrested are accused of giving birth to children, tests on which show the children to have been born with drugs in their systems. The law enforcement records identify the drugs as cannabinoids, methamphetamine, and an opiate containing hydrocodone. The cases are under investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department and the state Department of Social Services.
