Three rafters OK after misunderstanding
Three unaccounted for Chattooga River rafters are OK. Scott Krein, director of Oconee Emergency Services, says it turned out to be a misunderstanding over what time the rafters had planned to come off the river. A search and rescue operation was started last evening. Krein’s colleague, Charlie King, says the overdue rafters were spotted shortly after 8 this morning by Ranger 1, the helicopter of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.
