Tigers, Gamecocks, Paladins Win On Diamond

In college baseball at Clemson on Wednesday, Jay Baum and Shane Kennedy both went 3-for-3 and freshman Steven Duggar added a career-high four RBIs to lead Clemson to a 9-2 victory over Wofford at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday. The Tigers, who won their 14th game in a row over Wofford, improved to 7-4 on the season. The Terriers dropped to 7-6 in 2013.

At Columbia, Sixth ranked South Carolina scored six runs in the first three innings and batted around to score seven more in the bottom of the eighth on the way to a 14-4 win over Ball State on Wednesday afternoon at Carolina Stadium. South Carolina improves to 10-2 on the year.

At Myrtle Beach, Taylor Johnson went 4-for-5 and scored a pair of runs and Furman overcame an early five-run deficit to defeat Coastal Carolina, 11-6, in baseball action Wednesday afternoon at Pelican Stadium. With the victory the Paladins (10-3) completed the two-game mid-week sweep of the Chanticleers (4-8) to post a 4-1 record on their five-game road stretch, which included a SoCon season opening series win at Elon.
