“Time for young blood”

After more than 20 years, Mike Foster is giving up his seat on the board of directors of Pioneer Rural Water District. At a meeting yesterday, Foster nominated fellow Oakway resident Mark Holbrooks to succeed him as the board member from Pioneer territory seat one. Holbrooks will go into the annual membership meeting in June unopposed for the seat. Foster said he believes it’s “time for young blood” on the board that sets policy for the Oconee-Anderson water supplier. While Foster is departing, Chairman Barry Stevenson hopes to remain put. Stevenson was nominated for another term as the board member from territory seat four. He will go into the June meeting without opposition.
