To be decided by the state lawmakers!

June 19, 2014

If there is to be a further override of the Governor’s veto of additional operating expenses for the state’s lawmakers, expect that override to take place by 5 o’clock this afternoon. That’s the word we are getting from Columbia where the Senate is in its dying hours for the 2014 session. Senator Thomas Alexander says this additional money for the state’s lawmakers is for in-district expense and it is not salary. It would be amount to an extra $1 thousand a month for each lawmaker. According to Alexander, the in-district legislators’ account has not been increased in 20 years.
